About Focus 56
Built by an arborist. Flown by a pilot who actually listens.
The Story
Focus 56 started because I spent 30 years climbing trees, looking at trees, and figuring out which trees were about to cause problems. I got my Part 107 license because the best angle for assessing a tree has risk is from above — not from a bucket truck.
The drone business grew from there. I realized the same aerial perspective that helps me assess tree risk helps property managers, realtors, and builders see their assets more clearly.
So I built Focus 56 around this idea: professional drone services grounded in three decades of real-world expertise — not just a drone and a dream.
Why Focus 56 Is Different
Most drone operators can fly. Some can take good photos. Few can look at a tree and tell you whether it is a liability or just a little Dr. Seuss.
That arborist eye is what sets Focus 56 apart — especially on tree risk assessments, where knowing what you are looking at matters as much as getting the shot.
30 Years in Tree Care
I have been an arborist for three decades. I have pruned, removed, and assessed thousands of trees. That experience shapes how I fly, what I look for, and what I report back.
FAA Part 107 Licensed
Remote Pilot Certificate valid through March 2028. I know the rules, I follow the rules, and I do not cut corners on airspace or authorization.
Fully Insured
Drone liability coverage protects your property and my operation. Proof of insurance available on request.
Local to Thurston County
I am based in Lacey, WA. I know the local parks, weather patterns, and airspace. No remote piloting from across the state — I show up.

How I Operate
- Do the work right. No cutting corners. No half-measures. If it is worth doing, it is worth doing well.
- Tell the truth. Honest assessments, honest pricing, honest timelines. I will tell you if a drone is not the right tool for your job.
- Show up. I say I will do something, I do it. Same for arriving on time. If something changes, I communicate.
- Respect the property. Your property is not my playground. Every flight is conducted with safety first.
